3 types: Arena,
Proscenium, and Thrust

Arena-challenges for actors-dealing with facing the
audience that is completely surrounded by audience.
        
challenges for techies: set needs to be minimal so as not to block the action
from the audience, 
                                        
waist height or lower
          positives-intimate environment
that makes the audience feel as though they(audience) are part of

                        the show

Proscenium-Actors: need to only worry about the audience
from one direction
                 Techies: set is easier to
create because it will not block the audience from seeing
actors
                 Positives: Lighting is simpler then
thrust or arena

Thrust-Actors:
need to focus on the three of the four sides, where the audience
sits
          Techies: set is easier then arena, more
challenging then proscenium (the thrust part of the stage
     
                has to have set pieces lower then waist height)
 
         Positives: intimate environment and still allowing for stage walls and
doors.
